In this instance, She's a writer.
Compulsions not limited, however, by gender or artistic medium.

Restless writer, is She.
Compulsive.
Working hard, digging deep.
What is it She would accomplish?
To what end express?
Why does it matter?
Spirit, thus seized,
Searches and lifts
Hard-won treasures from Psyche’s dramas,
Makes small time for sleep.
Why this urgency?
Passionate.
Finding voice, honing words.
She delights to decipher Muse’s tongue.
To translate Her messages,
To share Her gifts.
Mysteries uncovered
Engender and validate
Uncelebrated artistry from buried talents,
Offer riches, impress stamped.
She takes care to be true ,
Faithful to conscience.
Determined
To bestir better angels’ earnest instincts.
Disdains to dwell in negativity’s dank realms.
What purpose it serves?
How does it help?
Pleasures instead, proffers.
To uphold passions and hearten inspiration,
Would be Her cherished hope.
She thrives on honesty,
Yet keeps secrets.
Intriguing.
Much is revealed, much more concealed.
The best stories, of necessity, carefully told.
Still, compelled to self-disclosure,
Cavorts in streams-of-consciousness.
Truth, thus disclosed.
Samples of “the examined life worth living”,
Mere illustrations, tastes of one’s own.

| Wonderful, Helga, this sounds just like me! Isn't the power of passion glorious and all-consuming? Especially when the realization of such lances into heart and head? You've been speared, my lady, enjoy and procede with abandon! :) |

My own creativity is compelled to respond with an enthusiastic “YES!” to creative compulsions, like this one.
And an enthusiastic “GO HELGA!” to its talented author!
