Inspired by SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN, Dedicated to Robert E. Howard
The Cimmerian and I,
With a thousand gold eagles to spend.
Back from war, fighting for Strabonus
'Til sorcery brought him to his end.
Now! Bring on the wenches!
Let feasting begin.
Bring us both flagons three, of mead, wine and ale...
And make room for Red Sonja to dance,
As I strain to see past her veil.
Fleshpots of Shadizar
Are paradise on Earth,
A warrior's dream of sin,
And we'll drunkenly shout
'til our silver runs out
Then return to some far battle's din.
The end of the day
Comes in the usual way--
With Conan embroiled in a brawl...
And a sword through his arm, by Erlik above!
I enter the fray, but he shoves me away-
"I've suffered worse wounds
I laugh and return to my wine
Until a Kushite downs Conan with a chair
Then I unsheath my blade
And race to his aid...
I can't take the Cimmerian anywhere.
