This is an outstanding composition for its contents, imagery and rhythm. The subject dealt was developed to full picture painted with the colors of the rainbow of wisdom.
In admiration,

"Searing heat tears apart what left of my brain
the doctors say he’s gone quite insane
Powders gone now for at least a year
But the memory still brings ranting fear"
That's the stanza that caught me and made me pay attention. Very much in a tone with Tom Wait's "Tom Traubert's Blues." |

Memories inside my head send away
Hands still shake and tremors start
Fond is the memory but safe is the heart "

(((walter)))
welcome to author's den, first of all--i hope you'll like it here, and post often
this was a profoundly written, thought provoking write, with a clear message
"...take the gift that is given very carefully
for the price is something you do not see
it might be the essence of all you ever hold
more thank likely it will be your eternal soul."
i see by your bio you're a vietnam vet *thank you, sir, for your service, and welcome home, soldier*
(((HUGS))) and love,
karla. :( |
