Arachnid Phobia

It is that time of year again, the invasion of the Arachnids!

Arachnid Phobia

Our house is being invaded
by long legged creatures,
Though doors are barricaded
they still get through.

They are big, black and hairy
and run like the clappers,
Ugly as sin and twice as scary
their mission in life is to terrorise me.

They squeeze through the tiniest cracks
and expand to gigantic proportions,
In my direction begin to make tracks
with speed and determination.

I scream, the cat pounces
then backs away in disgust,
Off the creature flounces
and scoots around a table.

They get bigger each year
these fearsome squatters,
Their ability to instil fear
is a legend through time.

Cardinal Wolsey was scared
by these long legged beastie’s,
Even Palace residents are not spared
from their nocturnal invasions.

Most Arachnids I can tolerate
except the Cardinal Spider,
Entering my house seals his fate
Cardinals are NOT welcome here.

I just cannot stand BIG spiders - - - others I'll tolerate! We've had a "bumper crop" of spiders this summer and soon I guess they will be trying to come inside too to escape the cold.....I enjoyed this one Jackie!!

You have Arachnids, I have Ladybugs....ahhh...
isn't nature grand? I haven't figured out yet, though,
which aspects of it are grand as regards insect invasions!
I thoroughly enjoyed your verse!

My house is full of spiders, but I have never sprayed because I am afraid the poison would kill my fish (I have tanks of fancy guppies).
I guess I've never worried much about them, although the brown recluse here is one of the most deadly spiders in the world, or so I am told.

Excellent, Jackie! And I disagree with Kate. I think you should watch the movie, Arachnid. I've watched it several times and I give it 5 stars!!

PS Want to borrow Buddy? He loves eating them.

Whatever you do don't watch the movie, "Arachnid." I am told by others if you have a fear of spiders this would make it worst. Creepy write! .......I don't like spiders either, but I usually will escort them back outside if I can. Sometimes they fight to much and then I kill them.
