This kind of thing works both ways, and sometimes can be said by both
partners in any relationship. And, you've put it very well.
I particularly like "I will be the insubstantial everything you crave
It must be said, however, that I will not weep
for every little death you subject yourself to"
This is the rarest look inside the mind of the artist, and it works well.

Absolutely brilliant and as usual, trenchant and cuttingly human!
These verses really hit home!
and I shall sustain you through troubled times
What is that folksong from the 60's that I just can't quite recall, the title of which is SO similar to this verse?
I adore your poetry.
