I am so weary,
My life a desert
Of dead and dying trees…

The sun sets below the mountain,
And the night breeze arises,
Stirring the leaves,
Into an uneasy slumber…

The night’s hunters
Wait for the moon,
And the shadows loom
Stark and quiet,
In the falling night…

I rise and walk into the forest,
On paths of those who came before me,
On dark roads of heartache and grief,
I follow the trail of tears,

To the graveyard of my ancestors,
Wrapped in past glories,
With gifts to ease their passage,
Into the land of spirits…

I see their shadows walking before me,
Leading me to their land,
Hear the soft murmuring of their voices,
Chanting ancient songs…

The drum beats,
And we walk to its lovely sound,
Following it to the sacred ground,
Where peace and beauty reins,

Where I find what I am looking for,
And thank the Great Spirit,
For finally bringing me,

This is very well done. I think all of your admirers have pretty much said everything else that could be said.

I love this homage to nature and your ancestors, Reindeer, especially:

The night’s hunters
Wait for the moon,
And the shadows loom
Stark and quiet,
In the falling night…

May the spirits always walk beside you and protect you...
