You may not know it, but
you've been my dearest friend
since we first met.

Softest heart, kindest soul,
I've known in a while.
So naive, simple, beautiful,
pure.

Very unlike the usual crew,
That I always knew.
Who knew I'd be led to you?

I'm not sure how, or why,
but just know, that I'm glad
I met you.

You've made me smile
when there was nothing happy.
Think twice,
when I thought once was enough, and
believed in me when there
was nothing to hope for.

It could be me against the world,
and you'd be on my side;
giggling and smiling,
and have NO idea why. ;-)

But that's quite endearing,
as my friend, and always will be.
I'm sure we have many more years to come,
but at this one, I just hope you realize,
you've shaped my life for the better,
and I'll always be there for you, like
you've always been there for me...

Even with a wink, this one rings of sincerity. True appreciation very well expressed... the surprise and wonder show.

You're both very fortunate.

To have one person that close to you is someone to be cherished. I have one friend who's been there for me for over 20 years. The other, my entire life. I never just realized that until a few years ago. HE watches over me constantly. Debbie

Your humor on your front page actually got me to chuckle and few do. Great poem and strong feeling. What I'm curious about is - "do you really fly fish and catch dinner?" Throw a poem or two my way and I'll see if I can catch you a big publisher... grins. VicToria
