I have never been very religious, but when I was younger, I wrote this...
For some reason, right now seems time for it to come out & remind all that we are all just borrowing this life of ours...Peace, ED

                 WE THANK THEE...

There never has been thanks enough offered
To the One on high for His manifold blessings.
So, to Him above this tribute is proffered
In hopes that more will realize and make their confessings.

We were all brought life through his gracious oversee
Struggled through life 'til we reached our maturity.
The trials, the troubles, were all a minor fee
For the privilege of living with Him in security.

He brought the flowers forth in all their splendor,
The mountains and valleys, lakes and such scenery
His salesmanship in this made him a qualified vendor
Of the appreciation and propriety released thru greenery.

Throughout our lives we've taken all this for granted,
Never thinking or supposing that He made it all.
That in us the seeds of heaven were planted;
That some day our reward will eventually fall.

Some poor disillusioned folk refuse to consider
That all that happens is by His noble order;
And that heaven is open only to the highest bidder.
No one can attain that height without being a real
God's love hoarder.

Regardless of one's station in life or success
Whether he be rich or poor or just medial prosperous
That station was pre-arranged according to their prowess
In observing His rules in ascending life's terrace.

So, pray for all you're worth in your living existence;
Be not afraid to empty your heart out
To the exalted Being on high with persistence
In the morning - the day to start out.

The world no longer believes that it's shame to pray
In church or in private no matter where
Tell Him your innermost secrets and say,

              BROUGHT TO BEAR."

(I include this in my writings because, of late, a feud has developed betwix myself and another writer & I have high hopes that reading this might quell both of our feudal tendencies. It has worked for me...)

Well done, Ed, there is strength of faith here, beautiful in its perceptions. :)

I would say that it was very profound in its weight and worth.
