The Dying Moon

I want to swim within thy words,
drift upon them as if they were
waves. Gentle is thy soul, lingering
in thoughts and living in dreams.
I see the world as a cold, harsh
place. Let thy light shine in through
mine windows, cast out the shadows
that threaten to overwhelm!
I hang mine self within the noose of
I must shake these images from this mind!
Cast aside what is mere mirage and tread
softly upon the path, ever further away from
There in the sky, it doth catch mine eye ...
a twinkling star that outshines most. Tis a
beautiful soul up there, looking down through
the clouds. Not only is it a star shining bright,
tis also an angel with gossamer wings.
I blink, mine eyes deceive me as always.
If it were not for these broken wings, I might
soar high and touch the sky! Sing mine song
with the angels way up high. Mingle with those
whose light shines brightest, casting night
into day ...
Alas, I sink back down, into the murky depths
below. A river of tears to flow for eternity's
haul, one full of shattered dreams and crystal
Thy words, at least, I still have to hold onto,
to grace mine eyes with ... I am captivated
by thee ... For thy words are like candies to
mine eyes, waiting to be devoured and turned
... I am captivated by thee ...
... Let me gaze now, upon thy soul ...
... even if only in dreams ...
