You have swept me through a dance of indecision,
And as your last dance partner of the evening
I am left to wonder if you will accompany me home.

The melody of our life plays faintly in the background.
Much like the leftover cigarette smoke in an empty bar,
A haze of memory imbues the air with a surrealistic feel.

The flower girl’s white petals drop one by one in my head,
Yet no answer is achieved when the counting is done.
I am no wiser today than I was countless days before.

Like Sisyphus I carry the burdensome weight of apprehension Forever upwards, fearful of my tumbling failure.
My life is caught in the chaos of uncaring circumstance.

Desperate to breathe freely again, still I cower in fear of breathing alone.
Confusion clouds my perceptions; reality is evanescent.
My identity is lost in the quagmire I have allowed you to create.

My resistance is shattered; the pieces lay before me,
Brokenly screaming their threat of bad luck.
I cannot stop this dance; I turn to you, my partner, for release.

My god, Leysa, this is so utter in its fragmentation of mind, heart, spirit and soul! It is as beautiful as it is painful. Why don't you grab that grandbaby, get your red mustand out of the garage and head for the hills so you can regroup and watch Abby, the real meaning of finding yourself. She needs her fiery grandma to be whole and happy with herself, failure-feelings aside-it can't be one-sided, and be proud of who and what she is, a strong passionate woman who can roar with the best of them!! :)

PS If you make it this way, we'll do multiple shots and write sad poems about life and egos, then dance to Adam, and pass out...
