Halloween - Haiku

Just playing with words in haiku form on the theme of Halloween.

October is over

Just a few dark hours left

And ‘tis All Saints’ Day

This is Halloween

Celebrating the dark side

Of things left unsaid

From ebon branches

Owls hoot out their advice

To trick-or-treaters

Hissing and shrieking

Black cats go prowling about

Darkened back alleys

As darkness descends

Bats emerge from hideaways

Soiling the night sky

In cemeteries

Souls rise up from ancient graves

And wander about

It is the birthday

Of feared and unwanted things

Hidden in the mind

Imagination

Is the most important gift

To share on this night

These individual haikus actually fit well together to form one big poem. You've done a great job here. Each haiku has something to think about and it holds plenty of meaning and even depth in some cases. Thanks for sharing. Nicely done!
