My Cat Who Loves to Fly

By Scott D. Zachary

Spooky is her name;
I adore her.
Abandoned by a friend,
Who I thought was a friend.

He was one of my best friends—
I ever had . . .
I thought,
And then he left his cat to starve.

Black as polished coal can be,
She’s now my best friend.
The feline lady loves to fly,
Oh my, my.

The first several times—
I twirled her onto the bed,
She agonized over her daily—
Mid-air summersault.

Now she jumps upon my bed,
Anxiously awaiting her chance to fly.
She knows I care too much to let her—
Land on her head.

I LOVE cats.......I have five.....lol Well three are kittens that in two weeks are all going to good homes....if I can bear to let them go.

I could really relate to this....The Mum Cat.....Bindi is a treasure...she's just an old tabby moggie......but she has so much love to give it's amazing.....She sits on the wood table whilst I write poems...lol

Really enjoyed, Ty, Dani

I found one of these once, gave her to my mom. Siamese, fit in my hand. She is Moch. Like chocolate, just Moch, now 6. Better name than Peanutbuttermarkerpapersack..the last one my baby sister named :)

Well, a few different things run through my mind while reading this...LOL! This could have several takes. You are so very creative. I love that in a good poet! I liked the "I thoughts"--creative --very creative mind. 5 stars!

Thanks,
Teresa Emilie

Only the wise know that you never own a cat, a cat owns you. May you share many love filled years twirling and swirling with the best of them.

Scott, I too have a marvelously loving stray who is so
much a part of my life now, I can't imagine being without him.
Though it seems a bit harsh to apply to an animal, I am put in
mind of the old saying: "One man's trash is another man's treasure."
It is good that you no longer consider That Man your friend...as
anyone who deserts an animal companion that way, deserves no friends.
You will see a picture of my "Peeky" in my poem "Alone."

I remember Spooky, she must like to fly living with you Scott, an ex USAF person, and drinker of Corona's. They can make you fly. This is a short cute one Scott, in the vein of writing about things you know, and a fun one too...Love to B, Spooky & J. Peace, ED & Woofie (ruff)
