A Gothic Thought

A dark star of introspection along a ribbon of light...

There is a living darkness
caged deep within.
It wants to feed,
to grow, and devestate
the dreamscapes
I have woven
from an artist's soul,
passing through
a sharp-edged world.

The red-eyed beast
rattles its chains,
straining for acceptance.
It shouts at me:

"you know I am
your true st self,
Your honest face.
All else is a mask
of useless manners.
Our need is our right
to take what we want."

Because I know
that it is right,
I can never let it loose.

Wonderfully done! The things within are often far more frightening than anything outside...I love the way you expressed this.
