The earth awakens
to a white blanket
covering her, frozen
in silent morning
without sun light

A winters morning
creeps coldly, longingly
into the bones

A gray day
shines into the glass
dull without reflection
to shine back
She weeps quietly
tears of stillness
freezing like ice

A bird outside, singing
songs of bare trees
All the leaves fallen

Lying upon the ground
sheltering creatures
large and small
whispering to the earth
of warm spring dreams

Covered now in solitude
by the snowy blanket
white contrasts-gray

This afternoon hazy
sheltered by clouds
The sun, hides
cannot shine, today
Awaiting twilight
to hide the cold
to escape the gray

Covered by starlight
shimmering, glowing
blanket of white

I love when you write like this! No one brings a better image in their prose of nature than you do. Of course that's just my esteemed opinion. ;o)
