Burning Love

Lying here,
wanting, needing, yearning.
Come to me,
chase away the dark shadows of night.
Let me breathe again without choking on tears.
These sheets cannot compare to the warmth of your body.
This bed does not hold me like you once did.
Being alone at night seems so strange.
I look up and see only ceiling,
your eyes no longer gaze down into my soul.
A cool wind blows by, making me shiver like your soft, caressing lips once did,
but it isnít the same.
You spat on our burning love and turned away.
You left me here,
aching, yearning,
drowning in desire that I used to burn in.
