These are two poems that should be read together as they are about the same person... repost from long ago...

 Airport Good -Bye

You asked me at the airport
If I wanted you to wait with me..
You knew I had a long wait..
and I thought to myself ..
Yes!! Yes!!
but I said no..
Knowing your guilt needed to go..
back home to your family
where you belonged..
back to where your heart was
to right whatever went wrong..
I took bags from your car...
I quickly walked away..
I didn't want you to see my eyes..
and how you broke my heart that day..
Once inside the airport..
I pushed back my tears..
Again the strong independent one..
As always throughout the years..
I sat to the side
watched the time go by..
Praying, hoping, in my mind..
That you would run in to say good bye..
To tell me it was all a mistake..
that you couldn't let me go..
without one more kiss..
and that although we could
never be together..
my love you would miss..
But it never happened..
I remained alone..
Crying in my heart..
as you drove back home.
To your life
Where you belong..
Wondering why..
You couldn't say good bye..

My Greatest Mistake
To hold the unbridled reins.
Of a wild heart untamed
To cry these tears without the pain
To never know you feel the same.

To hold to memories we know not why..
The past cannot be denied..
To ourselves we tell many lies..
To avoid the heart break of good-bye.

Time seems to fly so fast..
Like we are characters in a movie cast..
Wish that our friendship could outlast.
All the baggage from the past.

Ahh if only we could begin again..
I would never let you go my friend..
There would be no past no clocks, no end
If only time we could transcend

I do not want to live with your hate ..
For that I know I am too late..
To fix what is set by fate..
To take away my greatest mistake..

It seems that a lot of folks at AD are coming to terms with their fears these days and taking a good hard look at the past, the present, and the future. I include myself among this group of life's fumblers in attempting to right wrongs, salvage ego, and feel better about tomorrow. This was very well done, repost or not, and I usually don't like to read people's repost. Excellent, Erica.

I like the second part. Mistakes stands very well alone and is a good write.
