Poetry..
My escape
my way to validate..
all that I feel..
all that is unjust..
all that I went through
The pain of growing up..
My Poetic Diary..
Counting the days..
the months ..
the years..
That I was deserted...
abandoned.
imprisoned
just waiting for my turn..
to tell my side.
but there was no one
there to listen..
But you my friend..
always there from the age of ten..
allowed me to complain..
to scream of all my pain
through this pen..
To figure out what went wrong..
To let tears fall on
these pages I depend..
These pages keep my secrets ..
Never judge..
this empty paper is my love..
It beckons me..
when I feel low..
Come here my friend
tell me all your woes..
I will never let you down..
Never let your secrets go..
I will take your words that you feel..
I will let them fill my pages..
Of pain..of life.. of love.. of rage.
I will absorb your tears ..
in every page
I will hold all you have to write my love..
As my pages fill with drops of  blood.
I am and have always been
your friend..
Forever waiting here  for you
This simple piece
of paper and pen..

Hi Erica,
Excellent as always, what better best friend is there, than ourselves. With the pen and paper as the vehicle into your soul.

Hope you are well?

Erica, This I enjoyed reading, for it tells me that most of all that choose to pen their thoughts, feel the very same way. Thanks for sharing this. Lisa

I feel the same way. You have really validated to me what writing does for each of us. You don't need to suffer alone. Take my hand. Another poem for my archive of greats.
