One Day Of Childhood On Misty Moutain Memories

A Harley ride at the age of thirty three.
I know it sounds absurd for “Ms. Responsibility.
I must admit I was a little nervous.
As I got on this machine.
But then I put my arms around you
and felt suddenly serene.
It could have been your flock of angels…
that you claimed made us safe.
But I believe it was fate
mixed with a little faith.
Faith in your angels…
and that they could fly as fast as us.
Faith that you were maybe someone special..
Someone I could trust.
We rode through many highways ..
up dirt roads and fields.
I loved the feel of the wind in my face
playing with my hair.
I felt that I had freedom.
I could ride without a care.
Maybe I had found the key.
To a hidden person , within me.
You took me to a mountain side
The Mountain had no name..
So we called it Misty Mountain..
Like children staking a claim..
You showed me long forgotten graves.
The stones were very old
covered with years of weeds.
We cleared around this group of stones.
So that we might see.
Who rested in this beautiful place.
Still untouched from the human race?
It was sad to see so many children
had died before their time.
I know they died a hundred years ago.
Long before the industrial world that we know.
But as we rode back down that mountain.
I could feel how that mother must have mourned.
Back on the rode now…
my arms around you tight.
Still thinking of the Mother ..
but instinctively knowing she was alright.
I am sure they are all little angels now.
Perhaps in Gods hand.
Perhaps flying above us now,
helping me understand.
Ahh
Then you took me to another hill.
This one made of stone.
You tried to help me climb.
But I wanted to do it .. on my own.
We were like children then,
as you showed me
how the rock could be a home.
You showed me each and every room.
I let my imagination go…
like a child in full bloom.
For a day
I was filled with thoughts and hopes .
For a day
I was as free as a child to let my dreams roam.
But then this time had to end.
It was time to go home..
But I have to thank you for this my friend.
for giving me one day of childhood again.
