In time I have learned to forgive,
Even forget,
Some of those childhood memories,
That were not so pleaseant.

I have learned to say I forgive you
Even when deep down I know,
Somethings are all but impossible to forget.

I have grown up and grown older, And yes sometimes the memories are painful,
And I want to forget even when I do not,
Believe I ever can forget.

In time the wounds heal, the scars fade, but the memories, they never really go away,
They are vivid, and the details to clear.

Michelle, Good message.
After 24 years of harboring
sexual abuse and illness, &
almost dying, I have found Jesus
Christ and the past does not matter anymore.
I am concentrating on the FUTURE!

How true. I can forgive, but I can never forget! It isn't that easy, though; I need to forgive my two older sisters for their cruelty towards me, but they also need to forgive ME and apologize. I've done my part; now the rest is up to them. Good write about the power of forgiveness. Well done! (((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Texas, Karen Lynn. :(
