I spent the day digging up bones
Bones of old loves, long gone dry
Brittle and falling apart from age
Bones yellow with neglect
From years with hardly a thought
Bones wet and mildewed from tears
Both fresh and very old
Digging up bones of loves
Of loves so long gone by
And now its night and Iíve buried
Them back where they belong
In that old coffin called memory
Wrapped in soft reminders
And tied with an old love song
