My precious little one
You are on my mind today
There are so many things
I really need to say
The day you were born
Such a bittersweet day for me
Thou I loved you very much
I had to set you free
I had to allow you a better life
Than I could afford to give
A chance for a good future
A chance for you to live

**********************************

I picture you lying in your bed
With your little teddy bear
Covers up around your head
Red ribbons in your hair
I wonder if you're happy
Are you safe from harm
Oh God , how I would love to just
Hold you in my arms
See the face that I have pictured
Deep within my heart
Touch the little girl of mine
Let nothing tear us apart
How I miss you, my sweet baby
How I think of you
I wish I could be a part of
Everything you do
Are your eyes still as bright
As they were years ago
Do you dance in the sunshine
Play in the snow
Do you watch Blues Clues or do
You prefer Sesame Street
What are your favorite toys
What do you like to eat

**********************************

Know that all my life
I will hold you close to me
No matter where the road leads
There you will be
I will always love you
See your smiling face
In every little girl I see
You will be in her place
I picture you lying in your bed
With your little teddy bear
Covers up around your head
Red ribbons in your hair

This is a very touching poem, Linda. I see we both share the love for a daughter. My oldest is graduating from college today (12-12-03 Suma Cum Laude). It is amazing, it seems like only yesterday that she was the child. Your imagery with the teddy bear, red ribbons and the covers in the bed ar e wonderful.
