Become a Fan

Safe Poetry

Safe poetry, like safe sex foregoes

Fertilization

Favoring, instead, comfortable latex

Self-protection

Forgetting its purpose, which is

Insemination

Ideas planted like seed in a womb

Gestating

Over time, eventually to be born

Exclaiming

I AM LIVING THOUGHT; DO NOT IGNORE ME!

Conceit?

Perhaps it is, though no more vain than

Self-containment

Playing the odds, instead of plying the truth

Safe poetry

Serves a need, as sterile entertainment

Nothing less

Nothing more
