My son, Doug, slept with a stuffed monkey, Bijoe, until he was nine. He gave it to his fiancee' but Sherry returned it to me last year :)! Doug absolutely adored monkeys and chimps so if you hear thunder, chances are they're sharing this poem in heaven :)!

In the bar ... look
walls trembling ... shook
they swing on toes, hooked
on chandaliers;
drank many beers.
Oh, no, there's Bijoe!
Monkeys in bars,
jump in their cars.
Zoom--trashing yards!
Though they have zeal,
slip on a peal.
They scratch where they itch,
and seldom are rich;
their screetch ... high pitch.
Pick up their gals,
drop 'em in aisles.
Oh, no, there's Bijoe!
Monkeys in bars,
jump in their cars.
Zoom--trashing yards!
Though they have zeal,
slip on a peal.
They belch, "more nana's",
smoking Havanas--
crude ... they lack manna's.
Such coarse swingers
are heartbreakers.
Oh, no, there's Bijoe!
Monkeys in bars,
jump in their cars.
Zoom--trashing yards!
Though they have zeal,
slip on a peal.
They eat nuts, toss shells.
The noise? Well, it swells.
Their scent? Oh, the smells!
Elephants trump,
making monkeys jump.
Oh, no, there's Bijoe!
Monkeys in bars,
jump in their cars.
Zoom--trashing yards!
Though they have zeal,
slip on a peal.
Elephants heard
the nuts crunch! My word!
Largely they squat;
squish munks what-nots!
Munks race to cars,
fleeing the bars,
wrecking all yards.
Oh, no, there's Bijoe!
That's why--get real--
monkeys in bars ...
have no a peal.

Hey, this is so entertaining! I can just see him playing with Bijoe when he was younger. Nice cadence in the poem. Very playful overall. Glad you are trying to keep upbeat! Glad to see you do a tribute to Doug. Prayers and kind thoughts to you. -- Jeff
