Award-Winning Films of the 1930s
by John Howard Reid

Mathematicians will argue that the term, 1930s, applies to the years 1931 through 1940. The author, however, has taken the popular view that the decade extends from 1930 ..

Faces

Smiling faces show no traces of the trouble that lurks within. But faces speak.

One with a smile,
One laughing out,
One with a frown,
One looking blank,
One looking dead.

Many smiling faces,
many laughing faces,
many frowning faces
many blank faces,
many dead looking faces.

Faces talk without the mouth even speaking.
when I view your face,
no word need to be spoken.
Right away I can tell if you're choking,
if you're happy or sad,
joyous or mad.

If your face isn't in view,
your words speak for you.
They tell your story,
in all of its glory.
Or
Reveal your shame,
speak for your name.

Should we cover our faces,
keep our words out of places,
or
go ahead and deal our aces.
Play the game,
set the camera to our name,
Flash our own mood,
maybe change our attitude.

Picture yourself.

this is so true; one may never know what someone is going through when you see their face: they could be smiling and all happy on the surface, but on the inside, they are an emotional wreck! excellent observations, as always! (((HUGS))) and much love, your tx. friend, karen lynn. :( love you, grady!

The face mirrors the soul...isn't that a quote??? I think...and your poem expands upon that thought...very nice...
