It was a wonderful day, only a month or more since 9/11/01, but we needed the relaxation and got it that beautiful day on the Delaware...

October 13, 2001Ö

A little over a month since NYC tragedy,

Someone special lost for many,

We both needed a day to relax,

We didnít care what we did, just any.

We chose to take the boat out,

The day was beautiful, the sun shone,

There were no waves and not a hint of a breeze,

So out on the Delaware we went, all I can say is geez!

What a wonderful day to forget about stress,

The boat ran great,

Nothing had to be fixed; nothing had to get a test,

Few boats out that day, made the ocean and bay,

Ours to use & enjoy,

We sucked in, with happiness, all of the sunís rays that day.

We were happy beyond compare,

As we always seem when together we are,

Rene got some good shots,

One attached to this poem only shows me,

But trust there also was she.

We traveled a pretty good distance that day,

Followed the Ferry for a while and played,

Like kids we were, again,

What a wonderful feeling to be young & have no problems,

But only for awhile.

Not long after that, if you read the other poem about my boat,

We had to sell her, and I still miss the old girl,

She gave us a hell of a whirl,

Will again own a boat someday,

Not sure when, but the feeling of being young,

Will again be brought on when next by the boating itch we are stungÖ
