The death o' my Da..

It seems lyke lyfe was niver liv’d
it felt lyke luve was niver gie'd
tae me..

my iron faced da was rough
an’ distant
an’ yet his face and singing sang
still images..
upon my crying memorie...

he was wee and dark irish,
but tall upon his lack
of tolerance...
i was his sad son
who never rose in his eyes..

but I snuffed the lyfe from
his proud boast...

warm the breath to my sire
and in panic's eyes he
looked as if to ask....why ?

too late
was the answer
from my unforgivving tear...
i touched his cheek

Yes, its amazing how, our parents shape our lives, I know, I've been there. My mother was abusive, like a woman possessed, and it took its toll, but, you can rise above even so.
Da, a sad write, but prolly a needful one Gray, time to get it all out.

Love Ch'erie
