I am here to say to all my readers,
Have a depression free Christmas,
For that is the way that Christmas was meant to be...

I’m Tired of Christmas Depression…

I am so tired of being depressed around holidays,

But unfortunately it is a learned behavior, or so they say,

Whoever the hell “they” are, I say,

They can take their knowledge and file it away,

Maybe they can use some other day,

For being depressed is something that can be put aside,

By the person who has felt it for his whole life, besides,

I am on medication for this malady,

I take Zoloft & they help on other days,

So why do I have to double up on holidays?

I think it’s a conspiracy by the pharmaceutical companies,

We know Christmas is almost upon us,

So we go out and buy our prescriptions, as we think we must,

The dosage we double & adjust,

But only for that one day as it is then we feel disgust,

But in the end, does it even help the gathering dust?

The dust on our emotions & brains,

Hell, we can do better with a set of trains,

To chase away the holiday blues,

Become like a child again,

And play with those trains,

As if we haven’t got a clue…

And lest I forget, to all my readers, & fellow authors,
I wish a depression free Christmas to all of you,
The only present I can offer,
Are the thanks from this author,
For reading
my wanderings amidst my dusty "id"...

I'm feeling a bit down today also--I'm always ready for Christmas to be over with. I don't know if it has more to do with not liking winter or the fact that my family never gets together on Christmas. To me the best cure for depression is positive thinking and activity, so I'm going to get off this computer today and do the things that need to be done. Thanks for your Christmas wish!
