This is about a man who loves a woman, but is unhappily married. He won't take the chance of leaving, in case his new love might stop loving him and he'll end up alone.

He wants to call her and hold her tight;
But he won't do it, knows it isn't right.
He knows she'll soon get tired of him;
Thinks it's best to think of her,
Still wanting him.

He's a strange one, thinks he's no fool.
To hide his feelings, plays it so cool.
But when he sees her;
With another guy.
He's going to feel the pain so bad;
He'll want to die.

He'll forsake loving, for a wife who cares.
She won't see the pain inside:
The smile he wears.
His heart is breaking for a girl he must avoid.
His wife is warm and willing;
And always by his side

That's the way it goes.
And Heaven knows.
He'll keep it from her;
Let his heartache grow.
The girl he loves will soon forget him;
But this way he knows he won't be left alone.

Sad situation, emotive poem. Merry Christmas Donni, spend it with friends or doing something good for the homeless. Will be thinking of you.
