I see you've had this poem on for quite a while, but the message is still applicable. Excellent comparisons between Santa and Jesus, the Real Reason for the Season.
I especially like your last line.
Merry Christmas, 2006

..yes Ron you're quite right..though if it makes you feel any better santa was derived from the words Santa klaus...St. Nicholas etc. he, being a bishop, wore red..hence the color red...St Nick's day is celebrated on Dec.6 ..he was a kindly bishop gifting the poor in his diocese with gifts for Christmas..thus promoting love of one's neighbour etc.
great write..thankyou

| It's too late to remove Santa Claus from Christmas. I agree that the meaning of Christmas should be stressed, however. Still and all, many people celebrate Christmas for many reasons. It has become a holiday for all the world, just as English has become almost Universal around the world. |
