They were married..

Many years ago..

He was the only man she ever wanted..

The one who made her feel

her independence..

Yet nurtured the broken

child within..

The only one who ever made her feel safe..

Yet encouraged her to

spread her wings.

Their hearts were so young..

Their bond so strong..

Now here they are..

Years later..

What went wrong?

He saw special things within her..

A spirit..

Others refused to see.

They had sons..

Strived to give them

A strong family..

She tried to never let this man

of her dreams down..

Her worst fear..

To bring him shame..

To hurt him..

To make the love in his eyes for her change..

But look what happens..

As life and time

Take their toll..

Look what happens

Somehow it changes..

From living to love..

To watching love slowly go...

Neither right..

Neither wrong..

Just time..

Just life..

Going on..

Taking what it can..

Leaving them broken and confused..

What is the use …

Like trying to reach the summit..

Without the strength and conviction

to make this goal..

Praying they can reach the top..

Reunite with each others

lost hearts and souls..

Then suddenly they realize..

It is no different from where they stand..

For they are the same two people..

On the ocean..

On a mountain,

On this land..

Fighting to reach what they once had..

Knowing it can’t be done..

Because no matter how hard they try..

No matter how high they climb..

Frozen tears is what they find

Yet somehow

In the deepest core of their hearts..

Love tries to live on.

Yet it cannot enter..

What is frozen inside.

Perhaps the hearts they seek to find..

Are permanently lost..

In the blinding white..

Of a winters storm..

The heart does not have eyes, Love has many forms and does change over the years, but the love is there it has just under gone a metamorphosis.
