Hope In Darkest Hours

Dark illuminating colors hovered over me
My mind enveloped with fraudlent thoughts
What was I preparing to do?
I could not tell you

Rage over-welmed me
I ached in the debths of my soul
People tried to console me
I had nothing left to say
No desires, dreams, or goals
I wished everything would have faded away

I saw blue, white, and yellow pills
I thought they beckoned me

"Take me far away into a more peaceful eternity.
I will be gone without a trace
Nobody will miss me
Im just a tiny wave drifting endlessly out to sea
Fly overhead ravaging buzzards
Come feast on me."

The doorbell rang and I told myself they would go away
A friend shook my lifeless body

"Stop, you can't leave us this way."

"Wait a second; what is this I see?"

The eyes of my innocent child pierced through me

"Mommy, don't leave me, please!
You're not just a tiny wave.
You are all of lifes ocean to me."

"Help me, help me, help me!" I screamed.

Step one and two
I will make it through
Now, I wish to spend a lifetime on earth with you.

Shelly,

Bravo! I am so glad that suicide is not an option for you. I've tried twice in the past and it's no longer an option for me either.

Thank you for stopping by my den. The poem 'Dancing Through the Madness' is about my own struggle with depression.(manic-depression)
Blessings, Janet
