Giving Myself a Second Chance

In an empty meadow
there is a place high on the mountains
where my dreams lay untouched…
and like you, I have fallen-
though I have risen up again…

I have had my clouds of doubt
though I have found-no reasons
for emptiness. Heavy, burdensome tracks
are left amongst the cliffs
while I hang from the arms of truth

I have large thistles in my shoes
and they hurt me once again
though my dark shadows are felt
by bystanders like yourself
and I forget sometimes, who is to blame

Joyfully, I find myself
Once again. My arms are tired
My mind is cold, but forgiving
I ride once again with the wind
Giving myself a second chance…

Excellent, Antoinette: in forgiving ourselves, we enable ourselves to continue to move forward and learning every step of the way. It is how we grow from a being a spiritual infant to a mature spirit. ~~Bonnie Q

Great to see you back, hope you had fun. Chuck all those burdens off the mountain, and walk free, never picking them up again, you can have as many chances as you want, no crime in be human, only person whom makes no mistakes, never does anything with life, cool write..
