| Nice use of metaphor, smart use of simile and intelligent pacing making the piece flow with increasing dramatic vigor! The ending seals it all: the confessional tone and the admission of Love... Great writing, Jeff! |

Then you came to the table
You sheltered me and called my bluffs
Never asking questions -- you knew every card I held
Never once assuming anything -- you knew every rule
No presumptions; no pretense -- your cards were always spades
Ever encouraging me -- teaching me how to trump the Trumps
Jeff!!! YOU have outdone yourself with this write..the yes of the Beloved should be aware of these precious words...
Superb write...:)

Remarkably well written. I like how there are no periods for the punctuation but there are semi-colons and such. It is smooth and clean. I like the cleanliness and it's very sweet and tender. Good job!! I really liked it. It's not choppy either. Smooth and sweet.
Like a twilight of candlelight is shining upon a barely lit room. That's what it reminds me of.
