I hold the American Indian in great esteem...I wish to express this in the following poem..:)

The American Indian is not arrogant in his spirituality

In his wisdom

he dares not claim

over 'dumb creation'

For he knows

that the power

 of articulate speech

is a perilous gift

He honours silence

as the perfect

 balance in

He knows its definition

It  is the voice of God!

I cannot thank you enough for this beautiful tribute to the Native American people and in the determination to exist as well as coexist with nature. I am of Zuni-Yaqui origins and our nation of American Indians have undergone much change through rough times but we have survived the push and pull of a rapidly growing society and we have maintained as much of our customs and beliefs of the Great Spirit Creator in just the way he has inspired you. Once more, thank you, Vesna

Thank You, Poet, for touching the sacred ground!

May Your quills be kept in jar aromatized with the scent of wisdom, and may You use them to show the wonders of Your wise Heart and beautiful Soul.

My gratitude, respect and admiration.

Excellent poem and thoughts, Vesna. I, too, hold the Native American lifestyle and views on Creation and the creatures in it in very high esteem.
