i don't know WHERE this one came from,
but i loved the images that came to
mind! enjoy--

stretching his short stubby arms
shaking sparks out of his hair
he awakens
tosses aside the storm colored sheets
throws his legs over the side of the cloud
and rises to his full (little bolt) height

his daddy greets him with a smile
electricity shining in his teeth
how's my little man
the little bolt says awww daddy
i wanna grow up and be big like you
'cause you're the brightest light around

ruffling back tendrils of light
his daddy says get ready for school
today's your final
have you studied hard like a good boy
that's how you'll pass the test
that's how you'll learn to fly

yessir the little bolt told his daddy
i've studied really really really hard
more than i ever have
i want to fly across the sky
i really really really do
i'm just afraid i'm not big or brave enough

son we've all had doubts like that
believe in yourself and you'll do fine
i believe in you
what more do you need you've studied
you've answered all of the practice questions
you've performed your exercises well

i was afraid when i took my final
the little bolt's daddy told him
reeaaaallly and for true
yes son but because my daddy believed in me
and all i needed to do was believe in me
i passed you better get going you'll be late

when the day shifted into late afternoon
little bolt was seen zipping through the clouds
look daddy i passed
teacher said i was the best flier around
she said i was the quickest and brightest
see i knew i could do it hey daddy watch me

and father and son played a game of tag in the clouds

DAMN, girl...the imagery and playfulness of this "energetic" write are absolutely incredible! What a charming, playful, delightful poem!

"stretching his short stubby arms
shaking sparks out of his hair
he awakens
tosses aside the storm colored sheets
throws his legs over the side of the bed
and rises to his full (little bolt) height..."

"his daddy greets him with a smile
electricity shining in his teeth
how's my little man
the little bolt says awww, daddy
i wanna grow up and be big like you
'cause you're the brightest light around"

so did enjoy this; thank you for sharing! BRAVA!! your creative genius is growing by the day, and it is amazing with what you have managed to come up with! this is a sure fire winner for sure!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, karen lynn. :D

The Dead Winter Mountain Murders - Part Zero: The Runaway by Mark Sutton

Do serial killers wear loud, hand-knitted jumpers with pictures of fluffy kittens sewn into them? Are they sometimes obsessed with trains? And buses? Is it normal for a serial kill..
