WHAT IS LIFE

What is life that all desire,
to make one cheat and a liar,
to hesitate not to step on all,
to reach the top, only to fall—
Fall short in God’s favor
for such ill behavior?

What is life— for most a race
to hold a palatial, worldly place;
to be adorned in robe— ornamentation,
as proof of power— ostentation.
Only to fail in spiritual grace,
ashamed to look upon God’s face.

Life is naught but of this earth,
from the day of birth—
To live each day of test and trial,
and each deed recorded to file.
Life is naught but for a time
before something more sublime.

Great pic. You have a positive attitude. That's the main thing we need to survive the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.

At the Basilica of the Great Poet, the voice of His unique Daughter is heard... She is reciting "What Is Life", live and warm. This Poem delivers what was conceived to be written with the ink of wisdom aromatized with the scent of sandalwood.

I Salute You, Author-Poet Bonita M Quesinberry.

May Your life on this planet be a long healthy one.

My gratitude, respect and admiration.

Some say life is a series of problems and solutions. Others say without a problem life is not worth living. Whatever explanations they give, your poem has far reaching dimensions to understand the meaning of life. excellent write

A beautiful write Ms. Bonita
I was happier
before my children
going back to my youth
we were poor, had nothing
I made myself, married raised 3 children
bought a house, the american dream
all seem to seek
my children
are all married and flew the nest
we sold sold the house
have nothing, now we are happier
no mortgage
but a few bills
and "we thank God"

William
