Time to write something serious...ya think?

I write these goofy poems
And they always seem the same
It's time to rework my poetry,
And be a contender in the poetry game.
I must have "A" more se-ri-ous
Thought inside my head
But then again I used to
Be so dull, I might
As well been dead.
So laughter is my claim to fame
Or trying to get smiles, at least
You can't make dough
With just a bowl,
You must include some yeast
Now, that was my most serious thought
To date, and that's no lie
I'd rather spin these ridiculous yarns
Than philosophize on high...
