This was written for my very good friend, Colin. I see him very seldom...but always take pleasure in his company. That's what friends are.

Lord, I can see others hurting,
I feel their sadness,
sense their souls -
I seem to know, and I can see
that a manís heart is his salvation.

I stand before this man and I see,
that his bright, warm heart
is a friend to thee;
Iím not clear about whether
he sees his rare and precious worth...
on your road, led in Love.

How much sadness,
and how many years have shaded
his spirit from the sun?
And through lifeís journey
and itís years,
has there been a lot of laughter -
even through the tears?

Is this sight into your heart
opened by you?
Or, is it because we
shared the courage to reach out in a
familiar knowing, able
to recognize a spirit friend, long known...
travelling through the ether
to our mortal, earthly home?
