This is a Poem that I wrote and usually read during MLK Jr Programs.
One day I had a dream
A dream where blacks and whites worked together as a team
A dream unlike any dream Iíve ever had before
A dream where our nationís equality became reality and even more
In this dream I had a vision that you must understand
A vision where this land was a good land for our fellow man
A land for the free that promotes equality
Where riches are abundant, segregation is lost, and our prosperity is reality
The nation in my vision is a place where black and white children are in harmony
A place where freedom will ring from every hill and molehill is my testimony
Like Moses Iíve been summoned by God to lead His people to salvation
On this foundation as we unite in his holy nation
Where we are all created equal, we are all brothers, thereís no racial injustice
No oppression, no segregation, no prejudice but truth and justice
For all mankind symbolizing a beautiful symphony of brotherhood
Where we all work, pray, and struggle together is what I understood
Iíve already desegregated bus transportation, won the Nobel Peace Prize
And Iíve already began the civil rights movement so open your eyes
Clean out your ears and listen to Godís method on how to stop this brutality
Faith will take us there, however, I wonder if this dream will become reality
