Windy times has rocked our foundation
The torrential sun has wilted our ability
To cultivate our unhinged friendship
No longer will I replace the damaged soil
That gets uprooted after every storm.
In the past I allowed my trepidation
To enwrap my anger and frustration
In turn deciding to use a touch of nobility.
I tried to plant and make myself firm
Deciding to remain ignorant of your ways
Ignoring others who tried to inform
Warning me that you’re slick as oil.
Moving on through this hurricane of pain
All of the memories blowing against me
Makes my every move and step thorny
Determination for sunnier days guides me
Directing my desires and enabling my fears
Preventing me from returning to a downward spiral
Of unformatted love and kindness from you.
Now that our paths must split into two
Take my love and kindness and hold them dear
As an illustration of what I needed from you.
