If I were you,
I'd take that step
down the twisted trail,
you've yet to trod.

You've nothing to lose
for it,
perhaps your inhibitions,
your negative ideas,
and possibly
your soft heart.

What are you saving it for
in the first place?
You're not going to be able
to save it
store it on a shelf.

It's meant to be shared,
and used by another.
Keeping it locked up
isn't going make you smile
any larger
laugh any louder;
perhaps it'll make you feel
safe, and secure.

But letting it decide
for itself,
without that pesky brain
interjecting is a feeling
ten-fold any previous emotion.

So if I were you,
I'd reconsider what you're about to do.
Walls aren't making it any easier,
and your heart isn't getting
any younger;

believe in what it has to say,
for in the end,
it'll be a love worth dying for
if both hearts
see eye to eye...

Eloquent words Rodd, but some feel more comfortable with the masque to hide behind

reminds me of that song from "oliver," ... love isn't something you keep to yourself, you can't bury it, hide it or store it on a shelf.

excellent message throughout. especially the part about not leaving the mushy old heart to rot on a shelf! it needs to get out there and get bruised, good and proper.
