I thank you, God, for the beautiful things,
For your love of me and such wonderful wings.
To soar above in heaven’s sky;
to see an eagle, or hear a sigh.
For pain and laughter, and compassion too;
for hope and Faith and the knowledge of you.
I praise you God, as you rest on high,
for the colour of a flower, the blueness of the sky,
for the trees of the forest,
here wild creatures abound.
As I walk through your Eden
there’s no absence of sound.
Your voice in the willows -
Your presence surrounds this heart;
I sing hallelujah!
For Love and for pain and for tears that we cry,
I praise you for helping me see through clear eyes.
I thank you for showing me light, and for Truth;
for the mysteries of age, and the wonders of youth.
Thank you, Lord, for the stars in the sky,
for the sound of the rain and a newborn’s first cry.
For the wisdom of elders, the things that they say;
The promise of forever -
and know tomorrow’s a brand new day.
