Another bit of blues, this time in longing.

Every night
When I think of you
My heart aches
For one touch from you.

Tell me
How did we get to be
So far
Apart.

Everyone
Sees I'm sad and blue
They wonder what
For me can they do.

I tell them
It's because I'm blue
So far
From you.

I save my little pennies
In a great big jar.
It's almost halfway full
I'm doing well so far.

But just as I get close
To having just enough
The bills come in
And that's just tough.

Everywhere
That I look I see
Couples kissing and I
Wish it was you and me.

I tell myself
That someday it will
Be us
In love.

But every once
In awhile I cry
In awhile I give in
To a hopeless sigh.

I tell you love
That some days the grief's
So hard
I die.
