Are we all not addicted to the write?
Better than drugs and the drink...but only partially...

ADDICTED TO THE WRITE…

NOT TO THE DRINK,

NOR TO THE DRUG,

NOT TO SEX,

HARDLY EVEN TO HUGS.

BUT GIVE ME AN IDEA,

A THOUGHT TO WRITE ON,

AND YOU WILL FIND ME THOROUGHLY,

ADDICTED TO THE WRITE,

AND I FIND WITHIN, THAT THIS IS ONLY RIGHT.

IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT,

THOSE THAT GIVE ME NICE REVIEWS,

SPURRING ME ONWARD, NEVER TO HALT.

AN ADDICTION AS STRONG,

AS HEROIN IS WRONG,

T.V., COMPUTER & MORE.

I AM ADDICTED TO THE WRITE, THAT’S ALL,

IS THIS REALLY SO BAD?

SHOULD I FEEL SAD?

NOT REALLY I SAY, AS IT SOUNDS MORE MAD,

HAS MY TROLLEY DERAILED?

Or my choo-choo gone round the bend?

if it has, it has done so for me with glee,

as this addiction is one of happiness, mostly stress free,

                  can’t you see?

Guilty as charged! If we were to choose a vice, and writing wasn't in the choices, I would be lost. The addiction has a most pleasant odor.

I am addicted, too...Hmmm...wonder if there is such an organization for us addicted writers: WRITERS ANONYMOUS?? LOL Naaaahhh. There is a MUCH better place...AUTHORSDEN! :D LOVE this addiction, though, and I love you for writing this wonderful poem! Enjoyed!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your (addicted) friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)
