I never felt the pain of war
until I saw a soldier’s face
Desperation was evident…
His heart lay deep within his country
though his home…on the map…was far away

I realize now, we are all trapped
Our hands are tied behind our backs
We feel the violence, like criminals
As though- we, are behind bars
We are torn, and ripped apart by destruction

I am affected by the news
Like you…I sit in horror
when I read about the men
who have died…
within the saddened arms of their comrades

The news seems so calm and placid
We never feel the disgust-
or hear the moans from our men
when they have to clear the bodies
from the streets…

I’m sure our fighting soldiers
pray for the dead…
though you never hear their cries
or see them-wrestling with their souls
Victorious. The enemy is dead

Do you ever think about the adversary?
The ones we are fighting against
The mothers, who bore sons, just like us
They are helpless…distraught…hysterical
They are human…and they cry the same tears

Sorry to say that Bush still isn't listening, Antoinette.
Well done; evokes strong emotional response.

My hands shook too much after reading this to wipe the tears from my cheeks. Profoundly moving, and too close to home to absorb completely. Your poetry is sublime.

"Crying the Same Tears"... Profound composition to make us think.

I Salute you, Poet!

Question:
Can we change the barbecuing of humankind, and or death by asphyxiation from the smoke of injustice?

- YES! AYE, AYE!
IF WE SAY NAY, NO, NEVER TO INJUSTICE!

IF WE DON'T BUILD A SAFE AND JUST PLANET NOW, WE PROBABLY WON'T HAVE TIME TO BUILD A SHIP (AN ARK) TO RESCUE OUR CHILDREN FROM A DELUGE OF BLOOD.

Yes, the price of war is sad and high, the price of freedom is higher...we do cry the same tears.
