A song to herald the end of an epic.

you say that you love me
and i'm sure you think that you do
you've given all you had to give
done all that you can do

but when i try to give you back
the love inspired in me
you turn your nose and shake your head
or go along halfheartedly

you say that you need me
and i'm sure you think that's true
you'd miss me if i went away
you hate it when i'm blue

but when i need you to touch me
the way you used to then
suddenly your memory
has lost my file again

you love me
but you don't love the way that i would
wake up every morning to making love
cause i want to and not cause i should

you need me
but only the convenient parts
only the desperate part of me
that puts you above my own heart

you say that you want me
and i'm sure you do in your way
when the hoop is on fire i jump well
and i know just the right thing to say

but when it's too cold for the circus
or when it's too late for a show
the one step journey to my ecstasy
is just too far for you to go

i say i should leave you
and find someone who will let me
love you when it's convenient to
since it won't cost me my chastity

that would be so perfect
so neat and oh so very clean
then i could go and get my needs met
all without having to be mean

you love me
but i need more than you can give
and i know that i deserve better
and i've only one life to live

so let me
go and find what you say cannot be
someone i can be a whole woman with
someone with whom i can be free

What a sad and powerful love ballad this is. I think it'd make great sound lyrics.

Greetings Nubianne.
A well thought out piece describing the futility of one sided love. The kind of love that is more habit, a clinging to believed security.

Well done, I enjoyed it very much.
