i'm back...so is my twin. :-)

reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.
i had a hard time escaping those bright northern lights.
they came, they conquered, they stole my twin sister and i.
we battled against them, but we quickly lost the fight.

they took us away, to the northern climes (where it's cold).
we pleaded with them to take us back where it is warm.
you see, my twin sister and i had forgotten our coats.
for where we live, below zero temps are not the norm.

they laughed in our faces, saying, "you get what you deserve!
we're only following our mistress' instructions.
whistle at us, will you, you will learn your lesson well.
feel our fury!  you will face eternal destruction."

they had fun by torturing us with electric shocks.
we escaped, but they found us, quickly strapped us down tight.
being claustrophobic, we did not like it one bit.
they heard me ask my twin sister if she was all right.

they were confused; they'd never encountered this before.
they consulted with kate, they told her what they had seen.
kate whispered something to them, and they all bowed to her.
from red anger, they turned to a lovely healing green.

they saw i loved my twin sister, she loved me, as well.
they said our love for each other is what changed their mind.
they would let us go, but only on one condition.
continue to love each other, to others, be kind.

touching the scorched places on our bodies, sores were healed.
shaking their heads, they asked why we weren't full of hate.
we weren't mad at them, we assured the northern lights.
we forgave them and even forgave their mistress, kate.

she's not a killer, she's really a nice girl at heart.
we've enjoyed becoming her friend, reading what she writes.
if we couldn't return, we'd miss her and author's den.
she was the first to tell us the legend of the lights.

so they gently lowered us back to earth, took us home.
they said we could tell our story when we had returned.
they warned us to warn others not to whistle at them.
don't learn the hard way (like we did):  whistle, you'll get burned.

LOL at Ed's remarks :-) Ah sweet Karla you remembered the green healing lights :-) Yes Love does overpower all. When I get settled back in Alberta one of the first things I am going to do is hunt down the book I told you about. Buy three of them, and send two of them to you and Karen. Be forwarned this could take more then a year but it will happen :-)

Karla, sit down for some shocking news. Kate did get you both - you just haven't realized it yet. It took me a few days to realize I was a camel now! But relax, you'll get used to it - eventually - just don't look in the mirror for awhile. Man, was I shocked when I did!
