...all by myself...

One
me, solo
all by myself
all alone for now
on a cold dark night
the walls close in on my despair
loneliness has become my new best friend
my companion, my soulmate, my lover
master to my slave
and I am his bitch
completely
the one he loves above all others
for he has chosen me
against my will
my loneliness
seeks me late at night
when all have gone to rest
but sleep eludes me
so I snuggle in loneliness' embrace
seeking comfort in my own touch
for loneliness won't give me warmth
he is selfish like that
he mocks me in my need
for the touch of another
for he is a jealous lover
possessing me completely
as my hands glide where he will let
no other touch
and loneliness smiles
as I do his bidding
submitting to his control
the obedient nymph
prisoner of this night
awaiting the freedom of dawn
which seems to never come
as I plot ways to destroy the lover
whose trap I endure
until the sun rises
and loneliness steals one last kiss
