After experiencing jealousy in an early relationship, I matured and learned to trust my mate and not try to dictate her actions. It's the only way to be. This is another poem from "Acorns of Love and Wisdom."

Love is but a ghost of perception
Perched on emotion's shoulder
A figment of imagination
Quite slippery in the desperate grip
Of those who would clutch it

Seekers wander deserted lives
Staring under stones of need
Around stark truth
Forsaking harmonious unity
For selfish illusions
And material security

Putty people knead plastic lives
Sublimating, repressing nature's course
In the name of morality
And belabored by expectation
They don
Mandates of status-minded society

Pregnant understanding
Lends small solace to aching hearts
Yet fluttering wings
Descending in a gentle calm
Of compassionate awareness
Envelop lovers
Who drown mundane consciousness
With turbulent oceans of desire

And reeling from the magnitude
Of becoming one with another
Lovers are imprisoned
Within webs of possessiveness
For fear of losing their
Newly found happiness

It seems
That birds of paradise
Always plummet to destruction
From clipped wings
