Just some thoughts I tossed out to Al Swanson this morning. Thought I'd share.

the eccentricities among we, the poetic,
and among we, the humans,
make us all the more interesting.

if you and I met and had drinks
and discussed
the factors of binomial equations, or
how the stars alight the night,
astride the bounding,
fahthomless energy of the universe;

or how neurons of the brain interact
with the synapses,
in surges of thought and fluidity --
how prone we are, to;
subtlest influx of zeal --
we feel;
from those with whom we click;

faintest flick;

of wrist -- would give rise
to mountainous droves of
inspirational insight --

and in flight,
we'd find ourselves;

amidst junctures that bind minds of two as one;
as we follow spinning bullets down the barrel of a gun.

a fully loaded poem! when poets exchange their ideas, the inspiration that flows within their thoughts is alive with the energy of their creative possibiltites ...

You've got an eye for detail and way with words. Perhaps that's most of what defines a poet.

By the way, I was told, that I incorrectly spelled, the word Addiction, if that was the word I had been after, THEY would be right.

Was all set to drink with ya, and discuss any and all topics- til I saw the pistola. Think I'll stay home!

My, my, if we met for drinks (drink), and you struck up any of the above conversations with me, I am afraid, I would only be having one drink, leaving the glass half full, or half empty, but I would be out of there in a flash, heading to the nearest computer keyboard, to write my masterpiece. I think the title might be, "Jeff Mason's One Step Program To Ending Your Alcohol Addition". Just having some fun with it, at the expense, of us both. NOW THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT! ISN'T IT JUST POSSIBLE THAT OUR DISAGREEMENTS WITH EACH OTHER, CREATE CONTROVERSY, WHICH THEN BEGINS THE CREATIVE PROCESS OF WHAT WE DO AS WRITERS?

Thanks Katy. It's about 'visualization;' and about muses and about how certain people and certain things make other people 'click;' different things inspire different people; and how we can get together and be so inpsired as to [poetically and metaphorically discuss and visualize] such varied things as a bullet spinning down the barrel of gun. -- Jeff

Sigh, Jeff.. it was all so light and "airy" til that last line... I don't do equations but am certainly prone to "flights" (of fancy, mostly.. grin) There's food for thought here and I've taken a big gulp! Nice. katy.

Yes, and a pulled trigger cannot be unpulled and so words of wisdom, words of desire, words, words, words, attack the unwordy. I liked your poem and think I even understand it, however, understanding is also in the eye of that beholder. T think I should stop now before . . .
